DietID_TeamDietitians All the more reason why we need more labor transparency in our food system. One solution is to purchase from local fisherman. Or get some Barramundi from @inahalfshell's new company. Or try a CSF -...

mirasingh I wish there were more ways to know if my seafood was fished my slave labor ☹ seems like if you are at a restaurant or market that doesn't say anything about the fish, we should assume the worst?
-
Ricky @Mirasingh My fear is that even if something reassuring is said, it's probably not a sure thing. It's always kind of alarming when they do blind tests and find out that a significant fraction of...

DietID_TeamDietitians @Udi and I were talking about this! You should also listen to his episode on the brian Lehrer show. I was listening while running and almost tripped several times because I was I infuriated!
-
Ricky @Rachna haha yeah I know the feeling. He's a pretty strong libertarian but I respect the fact that he digs pretty deep into the analysis even if I don't agree with all of the conclusions.
-
DietID_TeamDietitians Yep I actually talked to some DC food policy people about this book and none of them had heard of it. I think there is now rebuttal brewing!

sugardetoxme I have used a QR code once. So I'm with you. I'm curious what other folks on the farming, journalism and policy front think would be great solutions @SaraGassman @olivettefarm @Emmatellsfoodstories...

olivettefarm I've never used a QR code and I doubt most people would for their food. I think clear on package labeling is the very best option, but that will be a huge fight. In the mean time I think educating...

Was trying to figure out if it was worthwhile to alter my daily routine. My conclusion after reading a couple resources: it's probably fine but maybe not really necessary anyway.

sugardetoxme Or you can follow my lead and never touch the stuff ;)

Ricky @sugardetoxme point taken. I go for the atmosphere. I'd drink hot water if they'd sell it to me...
