I tend to underestimate the magic of herbs and spices. I love to add cumin to beans for the flavor and also to reduce bloating.

@emeyerl The author says that cardamom is supposed to help the gastrointestinal tract (or the digestive system) with digestion and it decreases flatulence and stomach cramps.

We boil water at home with cracked cardamoms pods, cool it & drink it. improves blood circulation, a practice started by grandfather 20+ years ago...

I'm glad the point is made about how your body absorbs nutrients, like vitamin D. Just drinking water with extra vitamins doesn't help you as much ingesting it with a full meal.
