annefood 6yr Great question @ingalls ! Supposedly no added sugar on a label means no honey, molasses, high-fructose corn syrup, malt syrup or cane syrup. There are many other sugars that therefore seemingly could be included in a product even if it says no sugar added. This term also does not address artificial sweeteners (which are not allowed during the Avoid Added Sugar Challenge). Moral of the story: read the ingredients label. You're right that when something is labeled organic in the US, it typically must comply with the regulations set by the USDA. However natural is a loosely used term that supposedly means the product does not contain artificial ingredients or preservatives, but could contain hormones, GMOs etc. and honestly isn't very trustworthy. A lot of things are labeled natural that seem healthy but are filled with a lot of junk.
