The Farm-To-Table Movement and Rural Gentrification - CityLab
This was an interesting read for me. Having gone to undergrad in Chapel Hill, and return back there several times a year, I definitely want to check out Saxapahaw first-hand. I'm impressed with the connection to the farmers in both Saxapahaw and Kinston, and it's interesting to hear about the challenges in these types of communities and the implications to racial and economic inequalities. "As the food trend spreads, its impact and limitations on actual, real-life farms and farming communities becomes more visible."
