I personally love Pollan's philosophy on food but I would like to hear other opinions. Should we follow the nutritional advice of a journalist?

"The leader of the farm to table movement"!? What happened to Dan Barber, Alice Waters? MP is my college intellectual crush but please.Pretty great premise though. I do think there's a such thing as being too rigorous about what we eat. I am a product of my time, my culture. Gonna chill and eat an Oreo after I finish my kale salad. 🤗

I'm with you Tina -- too much of anything is a problem. Even professional body builders who often follow the most rigorous diets incorporate "cheat meals" into their regime where they eat whatever they want. There are substantial psychological and physical benefits to letting loose once in a while; change is good.

I'm glad the point is made about how your body absorbs nutrients, like vitamin D. Just drinking water with extra vitamins doesn't help you as much ingesting it with a full meal.
