sugardetoxme 9yr Don't use fresh ones (unfortunately) and shock with cold water right after boiling.
-
sugardetoxme 9yr Also putting eggs in a closed Tupperware and shaking vigorously to shatter the shell works
-
lauren 9yr I was told salt will do the trick!
-
DietID_TeamDietitians 9yr Cold shock them, then lightly tap around the entire shell so it's cracked but not totally broken. Then I roll it on the counter top like you'd roll a rolling pin so the inside film disconnects from the egg. Then I start peeling from the top - the cracked shell should stick to the inner film and pull away in one swoop!

annefood 9yr Great #kitchentips!

trainerbill 8yr Steam them! 12 minutes for large eggs. Not only are they easy to peel, but you also get a tender white, creamy yolk, and no green ring. Learned this from Serious Eats.
-
DietID_TeamDietitians 8yr Whoa! Steam?! Ok that is a game changer. The green yolks are always scary
-
GriotGood 8yr Steaming works well. If you don't have a steamer, you can still boil the eggs. But your eggs should be room temperature, and you should wait until the water is boiling before you add the eggs. I had been putting eggs into cold water to boil before, but this makes the whites stick to the shell. Adding a little bit of alkaline like baking soda into your water helps the shells come off more easily too.

DietID_TeamDietitians 8yr Thanks @GriotGood!

Julianka 8yr Peel the eggs with a spoon

SimplySeema 8yr @sugardetoxme sweet, need to try shaking in a Tupperware! @lauren should I put the salt in the boiling water? Or after its boiled? @Rachna wow, loved your description of how to peel, must try! @GriotGood so interesting to add baking soda to water, will try! Thank you @Julianka really?! Will try, thanks
