Apple cinnamon oatmeal
Apple cinnamon oatmeal:
1/2 Apple, peeled and chopped. (Plus 1/4 c. Water)
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup raisins
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 Tsp salt.
Cook chopped apple, 1/2 tsp cinnamon with 1/4 cup water for 5 minutes until soft. Add all other ingredients. Cook at medium high heat until it comes to a boil. Lower heat to simmer and cook for about 8-10 minutes until thickened.
*Raisins, apples and cinnamon provide sweetness without added sugar. Cooking with half milk provides creaminess.
