annefood 7yr Awesome work @Ellie1601 ! How has it been going?

Ellie1601 7yr Hi @annefood, I am definitely well on my way to developing a new habit at breakfast time. But I'm curious - I notice I've been eating a lot more sweets (candy) overall. Something like "I've been good at breakfast, I can have a treat". I am definitely addicted to sugar, and wondered if I should be trying to develop more holistic habits. Imagine an alcoholic abstaining from alcohol at breakfast, but drinking the rest of the day is fine! What should I do?

annefood 7yr Hey @Ellie1601 - If you're looking to get a handle on added sugar in general, I would recommend doing the Avoid Added Sugar Challenge. Check out the Guidebook https://www.thefoodstand.com/challenge-groups/14-avoid-added-sugar/guide here. It targets all added sugars whether they be in breakfast, sneaky added sugar in pasta sauce, or candy and dessert. What were you eating for breakfast and what are you eating now?

DietID_TeamDietitians 7yr I agree with @annefood to try the Avoid Added Sugar challenge next. For a some people, if you avoid sugar at breakfast, you start the day without activating your cravings. But if you have a sweet tooth, it's possible to compensate the rest of the day.
