etsummer 9yr I think it's really interesting to look at the differences between drinking habits of American college students vs. drinking habits of college-age students from other parts of the world like Europe. In my own experience traveling European and Latin American students seem much more responsible around drinking because it isn't as taboo to them when they're growing up (and they're able to drink legally at a younger age) as it is to American teenagers. Americans seem mush more likely to binge and go overboard when they're finally out of the house and away from parental supervision. Any thoughts?

darkchocolatepeanutbutter 9yr @etsummer Completely agree although I read from the WHO that Europeans over 15 drink the most. I guess their culture is helpful in teaching young adults that alcohol is normal but I think that the normalization of alcohol is also consequential since Europe also has the highest rates of deaths due to alcohol.

NehaNBB 9yr I'm going to guess that European food and beverage culture also prides quality and experience much more than American culture.

garv 9yr Coming from someone who has lived briefly in the USA & mostly in India , college drinking is a phase & most grow out of it. Admittedly , there is a tendency to go overboard !
