After I heard of Subway's "yoga-mat" chemicals in their bread, I'm not surprised that most fast food restaurants use chemicals in their food and packaging. The upside to this is that more fast casual restaurants like Fresh & Co and sweetgreen are using biodegradable packaging rather than traditional takeout boxes.

I think this is spot on. But not only are there more chemicals, but the sugar, salt, carbohydrates, and types of oils used are kept hidden from you for a reason.
