It may be hard to induce such cooperation
As it is not a revenue driving activity to the food industry.
So , key question is how to make it happen and what type of effective related rewards may be created.
Any ideas ?

DietID_TeamDietitians 9yr Well waste also cost money in hauler fees, so that is one consideration. However at the retailer level, you need to think about the concept of "returns" where unsold inventory is given back to manufacturers and the retailer is paid back a certain amount sometimes all. So the retailer is incentivized not to give away the food for cheap or free because he can save the loss by just returning the product. We need a market for the retailers or we need a simple funnel for manufacturers to ensure Returns don't go to the landfill

Bigo I tried cinnamon in my coffee but was very disappointed. However, I used far less than a teaspoon. I'll try again with more cinnamon. :D

cathyG I brew my coffee with cinnamon. I found that adding it to already brewed coffee just added a film, and a bit of a grainy bitter textural experience.
