Yes, so unfortunate and hope this changes. Spoke to Brodo (great bone broths in Nyc) and they are looking to get bone broth into hospitals. Fingers and toes crossed it happens.

Yes! This is one of the many things I get on my soap box about! The fact that our health care havens are treating diet related diseases with bad diets and pills!

It's really a shame that the place where sick people go to get healthy are relying on mass institutional prepared foods. Forget the issue that a better diet in the first place should encouraged by doctors, as opposed to prescribing chemicals to treat issues!!

Good thing is that a lot of hospitals and systems are changing in this, especially bigger name places, as they are getting better PR for being healthier places etc, and getting out of long term leases with fast food places and companies like Sysco. I used to work at U of Michigan hospital where a McDonald's was so prominent. It's now long gone and would be unheard of today. Hopefully communities like Foodstand can keep putting pressure on hospitals and health systems to provide better food, to employees, patients and visitors...

Yes! We need to continue to celebrate these successes so more people follow along. Looking forward to this trend carrying out in schools as well

My sister in law is in the hospital often and has taken to photographing all of the appalling food she is given. It's terrifying. It's basically an injection of chemicals and sugar.
A current article in Lancet medical journal about how healthy veggie fats are good....

I heard someone once say "sugar is the new fat, and fat is the new delicious." I think fat needs to rebrand.
