I don't understand why this is such a good thing? Has anyone tried it? Is this really some big innovation?
  • Udi We ponder this question a lot at the office. Thanks for sharing
  • brittanymbarton sounds awful. I've heard it described as drinking pancake batter. Not to mention I don't think it's possible to get adequate nutrition from it.
  • gingerandchorizo I don't think I can ever do that because I love eating too much ;-)

We grow and sell a good bit of wheatgrass, but have found it to be a polarizing crop as well. It's health benefits are very contested. Some swear by it, some swear against it. What are your thoughts?
  • DietID_TeamDietitians I'm not a die hard fan because it's made me feel a bit sick to my stomach once. Other than that, I know it's packed with nutrients but there hasn't been any good research on that I've found. Anyone...
  • lauren What are the uses other than juicing?
  • olivettefarm @Rachna I've also yet to find any strong research on the benefits of it, a lot of it is still anecdotal at this point..to my knowledge at least. The breakdown of nutrients actually isn't that...

Food. There are so many aspects to it that an entire encyclopedia could be

  • DietID_TeamDietitians Food is one of the only things that unites us all, and somehow also divides us. It should be an equalizer - all barriers break down when you break bread together, but that isn't currently the case.
  • unconventionalbaker Hm... interesting argument. There's definitely something to food that holds cultures together. But I think the worship of the sun and stars and the traditions that come from that have a stronger...
  • mirasingh Great point @unconventionalbaker. I think food for some people has become a routine - because we don't have a connection to food anymore. I don't agree with that, but I think that's where we've come
At Tampa Bay farm-to-table restaurants, you’re being fed fiction. How do we validate the claims of "farm to table" restaurants!?

A lot of you are in the restaurant industry so have you ever made menu claims that aren't true? And how can we ensure what is represented on the menu (e.g. Local) is true??
  • mirasingh This is crazy! It's like the fish story!

Are you always trying out new coffees and will only buy beans? My fave is Sante Eustachio from Rome since 1938. Tastes like earthy deep cacao.

I'm tempted to take my whole family down this one for 30 days. I think we are all sensitive to slightly different things - and I feel like I know my sensitivities well - but I think it would be val...
  • DietID_TeamDietitians I haven't done it intentionally, but I know @jessicaholmes tried it and loved it. After doing a #vegan challenge with @akhilg2002, I know there is a ton of value in doing it as a family. You have...
  • MargaretG @Rachna thanks!! I've trying doing some things on my own and it never works, which is why we're going to try this one together.
  • mirasingh The legumes were the the hardest part for me. I found I was eating more meat than I would have liked.

  • DietID_TeamDietitians Also not a tea snob but I made this awesome mix of chamomile, lemon verbana, and rose. The market near me has a mix and match tea station!
