Hi everybody, quick question. Does the Protein Skake for muscle mass building be considered as sweetened food (which is the case) but so useful after workouts?

Great question @johnnyjumper ! No, your protein shake is not considered to be a sweet/dessert, and is allowed on this Challenge. We designed this Challenge to help people get out of the habit of reaching for a dessert or candy as a snack instead of real food, and out of the habit of always needing dessert after a meal. I'm so glad you're aware of the added sugar in your protein shake though! If you were doing the Avoid Added Sugar Challenge, then the protein shake would not be allowed. There are some shakes/protein powders on the market that are sweetened with stevia, and some unsweetened powders if you're trying to cut back on sugar intake in general. Making an after-workout smoothie with whole food protein such as nut butter or yogurt could be a good option as well.

Ok interesting. Thanks Anne! I'll try to find a protein shake without any additional sweetener or@make one myself.

Thanks Anne. I'll jump into no sugar (added). Going to be harder. They put sugar even in Salmon slices, bought at a supermarket. In Salmon!

I know it's insane isn't it?! Sugar is in everything from peanut butter to tomato sauce. Glad that's your next Challenge!
