bananazen92 8yr Apparently, there was a study that this was not healthy for you, actually. According to the study, drinking eight glasses of water a day, even when you aren't thirsty can stop your gag reflex. This means that when you force down water even when you aren't thirsty, you are forcing and training your body to not reject an unwanted liquid and in turn, accept the substance, resulting in the loss of control over what you want to swallow and what you don't. I'm not sure if this study is undeniably credible, but just thought I should share what I heard.

darkchocolatepeanutbutter 8yr @bananazen92- I'm not aware of this study but I would take it with a grain of salt. Everyone requires different amounts of water depending on various factors (ex. physical activity, age, stress levels, etc). If multiple studies came out about too much water stopping a gag reflex, then it would be more credible but the problem for now is that people still aren't drinking enough water. @ritujat - To answer your question, milk doesn't count as water. It's best to drink pure water for the challenge and if you're struggling with your intake, try adding cucumbers, lemons, limes and even herbs like dill to make it more interesting. Hope that helps!
