Tough because farm to table isn't a certification or official label. People get an idea in their head of what that means and don't really question it.

I've talked to people in my community pretty extensively about this. Farmers are pretty upset. One solution may be to set up some sort of alert whenever a restaurant claims it is farm to table and lists the farm, that the farm gets a notification. I don't know how that could be possible, but right now, this is impossible to 'police' and correct.

@katewilson ideally , yes everything should come from a farm but science has made a lot of things possible for eateries that place premium on convenience over freshness. @FarmerDave it should be the other way around , farmers / growers within a specific region should form an association & declare their clients . It will also help the farmers to grow the biz together instead of competing...

Farm to table unfortunately has also become a pr activity rather than a practice & has acquired snob value when it should actually be the norm!

Thanks Udi for sharing this guide. Being born and raised in India, still was unaware of half the breads of India. I will definitely try making few of them at home.
