We're Closer Than Ever to a Magic Methane-Reducing Drug For Cows
Instead of eating less cows, is the solution to give cows an anti-methane drug?? Crazy! What do you think? "Meet 3NOP, a potentially world-changing creation." #foodnews

Eek this is pretty amazing but makes me nervous. If this is successful and implemented widely, sure it will reduce methane emissions but what about implications for land use, water use, animal welfare, etc. that may come with a new feeling that this problem is solved? Could take some thunder away from efforts to reduce meat consumption for those other reasons as well.

This sort of reminds of the Superbowl ad for opiod-induced constipation - coming up with a pill to reduce the effects of another pill. I totally agree with @etsummer - methane emissions is one part of the problem. We could also solve that by just eating less meat instead of spending years to develop a medicine.
