Breaking Into Retail: Make A Splash
With so many spaces in NYC, breaking into retail can be overwhelming; it can feel like diving into a bottomless ocean. With these tips, we’ll transform the mysterious into the manageable, fun and productive. Step 1: Dive Into An Already-Bustling Marketplace Through our partnership with Artists & Fleas, you can tap into an dedicated community of people who love all things local. Coming up on almost 15 years, Artists & Fleas has expanded nationally, and its community has grown along with it. And the best part? Artists & Fleas is a huge supporter of the foodie community in NYC. They recently hosted “Snack To The Future:” a day celebrating delicious food, during which snack vendors were featured at the Williamsburg location. Shoppers were encouraged to follow the snack trail through the market, sampling from each booth, purchasing and then voting for their favorite at the end of the day. Getting involved with Artists & Fleas is a win-win: you get that instant gratification of making day-of sales, and you also gain long-term exposure. When you book a booth, be sure to be stocked with business cards that include your contact info and your company’s website, so people can get in touch if they see what they like! And be creative with your display; check out these pics from “Snack to the Future” to get some inspiration. Looking the part pays off! Want to book a booth or chat strategy?
